New Jackery power stations will power your explorations
The improved portable power stations are a perfect pick for outdoorsy folk

If you’re someone who spends a lot of time off-grid or in the wilderness, the benefits of a portable power station are significant. These devices can keep you connected to friends and loved ones or charge essential – potentially even life-saving – equipment.
One of the most recognisable names in that industry is Jackery, and the brand has just unveiled its latest device. The Jackery Explorer 2000 V2 is designed to be the new benchmark for 2kWh power stations.
If you’re already familiar with the brand, the lightweight design and compact nature of these devices won’t be news to you. It’s something we’ve always admired about Jackery products, and the new Explorer 2000 V2 maintains the tradition.
In fact, this is the lightest and most compact 2kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) power station on the market, which is seriously impressive. It’s not just innovation for innovation’s sake, either. If you’re exploring, every gram and cubic centimeter counts, so packing the most into a smaller, lighter chassis is a massive benefit. For reference, the new model weighs just 17.5kg, and measures 33.5 x 26.4 x 29.2cm.
Part of the upgrade over the old Explorer 2000 Pro is the transition to a LiFePO4 battery. That brings better durability, improved safety and an extended lifecycle for the cell, which means you should be able to keep utilising the pack for even longer, and in a more diverse range of scenarios.
It also makes use of a cell-to-body (CTB) structure in the battery – part of what helps keep the size down. CTB effectively mounts the battery directly into the chassis, rather than in a separate module. That allows the size to be reduced, as there aren’t any extra bits of material to contend with.
Of course, safety is also of paramount importance with a device like this. Fortunately, Jackery is right at the forefront there, with the Jackery Charge Shield 2.0 offering a range of mind-easing benefits.
No less than 62 different protective mechanisms are present here, ensuring everything from reliable power output to a safe charging environment. You’ll get an improved lifespan and better heat dissipation as a result.
You’ll be able to charge up to six devices simultaneously with the Explorer 2000 V2. That comes from a pair of AC outputs, a pair of USB-C outputs, plus a USB-A and a car output. It’s not just good at charging other devices, though – charging the Explorer 2000 V2 is equally impressive.
You can opt to fast charge, flash charge, quiet charge or solar charge, with the quickest – flash charging – taking just 52 minutes to reach an 80% capacity. That’s seriously impressive, and offers a lot of versatility for whatever situation you find yourself in.
The Jackery Explorer 2000 V2 will retail for £1,399 in the UK. There’s also a bundle on offer, which pairs it with a 200W solar panel, which costs £1,999.
However, until the 20th of February, you can snag it with a killer discount. That sees the power station alone cost just £999, with the bundle setting you back just £1,299. That’s a really great deal, and bags you a lot of tech for not much cash.
Still not happy? Well, dear reader, we’ve got your back. Add in the code t3 at checkout to snag an extra 5% off until the 13th of March. Now that’s a bargain.
