When it comes to the best air fryers, many consumers prefer small and compact models. This is ideal if you have limited counter space or live alone, but if you're responsible for feeding a large family or preparing multiple meals a day, it may not be the best choice.

After recently reviewing the Ninja DoubleStack, we’ve shifted our focus to the other end of the spectrum. The Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry is a 10-litre air fryer that can easily be converted into one or two cooking zones. As a relatively new addition to the market, we were eager to get our hands on it and put it to the test.

The Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry has an RRP of £229.99/$229.99 and can be purchased from a number of selected retailers, including Amazon, Robert Dyas and B&Q.

This is on the expensive side for an air fryer, especially one that comes from a relatively lesser-known brand. It's also more expensive than its main competitor, the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer Air Fryer, which doesn't make a lot of sense. However, Amazon is still offering a Black Friday discount, reducing the price to just £199.99.

Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry 10-litre Air Fryer review: unboxing and set up

Unboxing and setting up the Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry is as straightforward as with any other air fryer. Inside the box, I found the main air fryer unit with its attached drawer, two crisper plates, a rubber divider and a pair of tongs. Additionally, the package included a user manual and a quick-start guide, both of which were incredibly helpful for getting started.

The air fryer's substantial size is immediately apparent, and it's certainly one of the largest models I’ve ever reviewed. However, this makes it perfect for larger families – a point I’ll delve into further in the next section.

The quick start guide recommends washing the drawer and crisper plates before using the air fryer, followed by running the unit empty for 10 minutes at high heat. This quick pre-use prep is simple and ensures you avoid any lingering plastic taste in your first few meals.

Once the cleaning and preheating were complete, I reassembled the crisper plates and divider into the drawer, and the air fryer was ready to go. I also took a moment to download the VeSync app to explore its features, which I planned to test out during my cooking sessions.

The Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry stands out with its impressive 10-litre capacity, which can be split into two 5-litre zones or used as one large cooking space. This makes it slightly bigger than Ninja Double Stack's 9.5-litre capacity, but just below the FlexDrawer's 10.5-litre basket. The two zones can be controlled independently, either manually or through the VeSync app. This flexibility makes it easy to cook different foods simultaneously on each side or use just one side when cooking smaller portions to save energy.

The control panel features a large, user-friendly design with clear readouts for time, temperature and function settings. The functions available include Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Grill, Reheat and Dry (Dehydrate), making it a highly capable appliance for a variety of cooking tasks.

A standout feature of the Dual Blaze TwinFry is its heating elements located on both the top and bottom, enhancing consistency by cooking food evenly from both sides. In contrast, most air fryers rely solely on a single top element and a fan to circulate hot air, so the addition of a bottom element provides an extra advantage.

Most functions use both heating elements, except for the Grill mode, which relies exclusively on the top element. It's important to note that whilst the Dual Blaze TwinFry's functions can reach up to 205°C, Ninja’s air fryers can go up to 230°C, offering a crispier result.

As mentioned, the Dual Blaze TwinFry can be easily paired with the VeSync app, allowing users to control the time and temperature of both zones remotely. It also allows you to control the Sync Cooking and Match Cooking features, both of which enhance the cooking experience even further.

With Sync Cooking, you can place different types of food in each basket, set individual cooking times and temperatures for each, and the air fryer will ensure both baskets finish at the same time. This makes preparing a meal with multiple components much easier, especially if you're new to cooking or find it challenging to time everything perfectly. Match Cooking is ideal for foods that require the same cooking time and temperature, allowing you to cook them simultaneously in each basket.

These are standard features for air fryers, but it's great to see Cosori incorporate them alongside the cooking functions. Given the Dual Blaze Twinfry’s generous size, they’re incredibly handy, especially since you'll likely be preparing most of your meal components in it.

Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry 10-litre Air Fryer review: performance

The performance of the Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry truly exceeded my expectations, and I found its ability to separate into distinct cooking zones incredibly convenient. When I wanted to prepare two different dishes at varying temperatures, it was easy to create the two separate zones, offering all the benefits of a dual-drawer air fryer. However, when I needed to cook an entire meal at once, removing the divider was effortless, allowing me to utilise the full cooking space. For instance, I easily fit a whole medium-sized chicken and vegetables into the entire drawer, and everything was cooked to perfection in under an hour – so easy!

I was also impressed by the range of cooking functions on the Dual Blaze Twinfry, and whilst other models may offer more options, it had everything I needed. The two heating elements ensured that food was always cooked thoroughly, and I never had to put anything back in for extra cooking. The Grill function quickly became my favourite, especially for cooking pork chops and bacon rashers.

One aspect that became a bit of a nuisance was cleaning the drawer and crisper plates. Whilst the plates were easy to remove and dishwasher-safe, the drawer was too large to fit in the dishwasher and had to be hand washed. This made it difficult to even rinse it in the sink, and cleaning quickly became the least enjoyable part of the process. If you have a small sink or aren’t fond of hand washing, this is definitely something to keep in mind. However, if you don’t mind the extra effort or have a large dishwasher to make use of, it shouldn't be a major issue.

Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry 10-litre Air Fryer review: verdict

The Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry is an excellent choice for larger families, particularly if you prefer cooking entire meals in one appliance. It easily converts between two cooking zones, offers a wide range of cooking functions for various food types, and features dual heating elements to ensure food is consistently cooked through. The accompanying app is also a standout, especially for controlling the Sync and Match cooking functions.

Whilst its larger size makes cleaning a bit challenging, the main drawback is its higher price tag. As a direct competitor to the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer, it’s hard to justify why the RRP is higher, especially from a lesser-known brand. That being said, it’s a reliable model that performs exceptionally well, so it ultimately comes down to personal preference.

Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry 10-litre Air Fryer review: alternatives to consider

The main alternative I’d recommend is the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer Air Fryer. As mentioned, the Dual Blaze Twinfry is a strong competitor to Ninja's model, with both featuring a divider and two crisper plates. The Ninja has a slightly larger capacity, at 10.4 litres, and is actually priced lower than the Dual Blaze Twinfry, making it an excellent option if you're looking for great value.

If you're looking for something even larger, T3 loves the Tower 10-in-1 Air Fryer Xpress Pro Combo. It has an 11-litre capacity and has a rotisserie cooking option, making it even more versatile, spacious and superior at roasting and grilling. It's also cheaper than the Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry and Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer, so you can't really go wrong?
