When you’re investing in one of the best LED face masks for firmer, healthier, younger looking skin, you want to know you’re getting the most bang for your buck – and that you can look after your purchase for many years to come.

Sadly, far too many LED masks arrive with flimsy fabric storage bags that do little to protect them, unlike the FliKEZE PhotonMask on test here, which comes with a stylish, study carry case and has many desirable features including four LED treatment modes for anti-ageing, restoring, brightening and acne removal.

Even better, it’s contour-fit design makes it the comfiest LED mask I’ve ever tried (and I’ve tried a lot)! Read on to find out while you’ll love wearing this cutting-edge mask as much as the skin rejuvenating results it delivers.

FLIKEZE PHOTONMASK REVIEW: PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The FliKEZE PhotonMask now available to buy for a recommended retail price of £385 from flikeze.com and selected third party retailers including Amazon UK.

FLIKEZE PHOTONMASK REVIEW: UNBOXING AND DESIGN

Arriving in a sturdy cardboard box, you’ll find the FliKEZE PhotonMask inside, plus a controller, an eye protector, six head straps, a detailed user manual, a USB-C charging cable, and a premium storage case.

This durable travel-ready circular case is a very welcome addition, with a built-in moulded insert to keep the mask protected, supported, and in shape. Lightweight and bulk-free, it opens and closes easily via the zip fastening and has a handy sewn-in strap for carrying or hanging.

The mask itself boasts a contour-fit design that FliKEZE says has been perfected during testing on thousands of face shapes for an impeccable fit and full facial coverage, while the ultra-flexible food-grade silicone and ‘baby-soft’ materials promise the ultimate in comfort.

Rather than individual eye holes, the mask features a long cutout around the eye area with an additional eye protector for increased comfort, plus two breathing holes for the nose and mouth. The mask’s straps are placed at the top and bottom to keep it securely in place during use, and larger heads will welcome the extra straps for a higher level of adjustability.

Suitable for all skin types, the mask is equipped with 92 ‘five-core gold wired’ LED bulbs. This means each bulb emits five different LED wavelengths for a total of 460 LEDs that combine to deliver four separate treatment modes.

The gold wiring is said to distribute heat more evenly for greater longevity and performance while enhancing its effectiveness at targeting specific skin concerns with precision. Each bulb also radiates light at a 60-degree beam angle to ensure an even spread of energy across every skin layer for visible, clinically proven results.

Portable and rechargeable, the controller has a type-C charging port and handy integrated back clip that lets you attach the pack to your waistband or pocket on the go. The digital screen helpfully displays the length of treatment (10 or 15 minutes), which of the four treatment modes you are in, a countdown timer, and how much battery is left.

Four dots indicate a full battery, and one charge lasts for over 10 uses (the power indicator light turns red when the battery is low so you can recharge it before your next use). To get going, press the power button to activate the controller, then select your preferred treatment length using the ‘T’ button and preferred mode with the ‘M’ button, before pressing the power button a final time to start the treatment.

FLIKEZE PHOTONMASK REVIEW: FEATURES

Designed to provide professional-grade solutions for skin rejuvenation at home, the FliKEZE PhotonMask emits five kinds of wavelength light therapy to penetrate the skin at different levels. Each different wavelength (nm) tackles a separate skin care issue, including:

Red light at 660nm: Stimulates collagen production, reduces wrinkles, and improves skin tone.

Yellow light (590nm): Improves skin hydration and overall texture, reduces facial redness, and helps repair and stabilize the skin.

Green light (532nm): Reduces sebum production, evens out skin tone, and minimizes redness and pigmentation.

Blue light (415nm): Eliminates acne-causing bacteria, prevents future breakouts, reduces pore size and controls oiliness.

Near-Infrared light (850nm): Penetrates deeply into the skin, reduces inflammation, and promotes healing.

Unlike traditional LED face masks that only use one form of LED wavelength, the PhotonMask combines the above light therapies to create four multi-wavelength modes. After years of testing, FliKEZE says this approach delivers superior results and enhanced effectiveness.

The best bit is that Near-infrared light is emitted in each of the four modes – whether your main concern is anti-ageing, brightening, skin repair or tackling acne - to deeply penetrate the skin’s layers and promote healing. The four modes are:

Anti-Ageing (660nm Red Light + 850nm Infrared): Stimulates collagen production, firms skin, and reduces fine lines and improves skin tone for enhanced skin rejuvenation.

Restoring (590nm Yellow Light + 850nm Infrared): Penetrates deep into the skin to reduce inflammation, promote healing, soothe irritation and reduce redness.

Brightening (532nm Green Light + 850nm Infrared): Reduces skin oil secretion, evens out skin tone, and alleviates redness and pigmentation for enhanced radiance.

Remove acne (415nm Blue Light + 660nm Red Light + 850nm Infrared): Targets bacteria causing acne, reduces pimples and inflammation, and prevents future breakouts.

In terms of frequency of use, FliKEZE says the PhotonMask can be used daily, up to two times a day, for a cumulative time of no more than 30 minutes once tolerance to LED is established.

FLIKEZE PHOTONMASK REVIEW: PERFORMANCE

The FliKEZE PhotonMask is hands down the comfiest LED mask I’ve tested, thanks to its contour-fit shape that wraps around the face beautifully and applies zero pressure to any high points of the face.

This is helped, I think, by the cutout area around the eyes, which prevents pressure from being applied to the bridge of the nose, as well as the super-soft silicone eye protector that adds cushioning while blocking LED light from hitting your eyes.

When FliKEZE says the mask is made from ‘baby-soft’ materials, they’re not wrong. One of the first things I noticed about this mask is how wonderfully soft, smooth and comfortable the interior is against the skin. And the exterior silicone is incredibly flexible and bendy while still managing to hold its contour-fit shape.

Overall, this mask is very easy to wear, and the back clip on the controller makes wearing it while moving around the house a breeze. Once the mask is on, it doesn’t slip in and remains tightly but comfortably in place to prevent unwanted light leakage for better results.

There are so many details I love about this mask, from the brilliant storage case to the controller’s digital display that clearly tells you with words which treatment mode you’re using so you don’t have to keep referring to the instruction manual. It’s a small thing, but rare, and it really ups the usability.

Above all, I love its comfort factor, as well as the incorporation of Infrared rays into every mode for deeper healing. I had a particularly bad hormonal acne breakout while testing this mask, and I felt the Remove Acne mode with Blue Light, Red Light and Infrared really helped to clear it quickly while promoting healing and reducing inflammation and redness.

FLIKEZE PHOTONMASK REVIEW: VERDICT

Made from super-soft, ultra-flexible materials, the FliKEZE PhotonMask boasts a contour-fit tested on thousands of faces for the ultimate in comfort, with a cutout area around the eyes to reduce pressure on the bridge of the nose.

Five different LED wavelengths - including Infrared to penetrate the skin deeply – combine to offer four treatment modes that effectively target several skincare concerns, including anti-ageing, brightening, repair, and acne-removal. Extra touches like the luxury storage case and the controller’s digital display make this one of the best LED masks on the market.
