T3 Verdict

The Dualit Dome is a reliable and well-designed kettle with a generous capacity and impressively fast boiling time, heating two litres in under two minutes. Though I didn’t really notice the boil-dry protection and non-drip spout, they add extra safety, which is great for families. The only downside is its large size, but if you need a high-capacity kettle, it’s a perfect choice.

As many of you know, I'm currently on my journey to finding the best kettle, which includes a lot of trying and testing along the way. I’ve learned more about kettles than I ever expected to, and whilst that's not the most exciting thing that's ever come out of my mouth, it’s definitely going to help you.

Next up is a top pick from Dualit – the 2-litre Dome kettle. This is a kettle undeniably on the larger side, so I wanted to put it to the test and see if it’s really worth it for bigger families.

Keep reading to hear my thoughts, and whether I think it’s worth the investment.

Dualit 2-litre Dome kettle review: price and availability

The Dualit Dome has an RRP of £89.99 (around $110) and can be purchased from B&Q, Robert Dyas or Dualit itself.

It's comes in a stainless steel finish, but there are two colour choices when it comes to accents – black or cream. After reviewing quite a few coloured matte kettles recently, it was nice to try one that didn't show marks as easily.

Dualit 2-litre Dome kettle review: design and features

The Dualit Dome has everything you could want in a kettle, and I’d go as far as to say there’s nothing missing. Its two standout features are its large capacity and fast boiling time – making it exceptionally useful for large families or avid tea drinkers.

Most standard kettles have a capacity of 1.5–1.7 litres, which typically fills around 4-5 cups. In contrast, the Dualit Dome holds up to two litres, providing around 6-7 cups in one boil.

The oversized non-drip spout is designed for precise pouring, with a contoured shape that ensures a smooth, controlled flow. The heatproof handle offers a secure, comfortable grip, which is especially useful when the kettle is full and slightly heavier to handle.

Another great feature is the 360° swivel base, allowing you to place the kettle at any angle. It may not sound like a big deal, but once you use a kettle without this feature, you’ll certainly notice the difference.

For added safety, the Dualit Dome includes a boil dry protection feature, preventing the kettle from overheating or becoming a hazard if it runs out of water.

Dualit 2-litre Dome kettle review: performance

I really enjoyed testing the Dualit Dome and found it to be one of the more substantial and reliable kettles I've tried. Its generous capacity and fast boiling time were especially convenient, and I was impressed that it could boil two litres of water in just under two minutes.

I also appreciated that it included all the features you'd want in a high-quality kettle, such as a removable limescale filter, 360° swivel base and a comfortable handle. It was easy to use and navigate, and despite its power, the boiling noise wasn’t overly loud.

As for the boil-dry protection feature and the non-drip spout, I didn’t find myself relying on them much, but it’s reassuring to know they’re there. Safety features like these are always a welcome addition, especially in a kettle designed for larger families where children might use it.

The only downside is its size. If you’re looking for something compact that blends seamlessly into your kitchen or if you live alone, there are better options out there. However, if you need the extra capacity, it’s pretty much perfect. Personally, I found the large body and handle a bit unnecessary for my needs, but for those who require a bigger kettle, this one ticks all the right boxes.

Dualit 2-litre Dome kettle review: verdict

The Dualit Dome is a reliable and well-designed kettle with a generous capacity and impressively fast boiling time, heating two litres in under two minutes. Though I didn’t really notice the boil-dry protection and non-drip spout, they add extra safety, which is great for families. The only downside is its large size, but if you need a high-capacity kettle, it’s a perfect choice.

Dualit 2-litre Dome kettle review: alternative to consider

If you like a stylish kettle but don't need one as big as the Dualit Dome, I'd go for the Smeg KLF03. Whilst it comes with a premium price tag, if you love classic retro design, it’s hard to beat. It also has several limescale-preventing features, making it a great choice for areas with hard water.

Another alternative to consider is the Ninja Black Perfect Temperature Kettle. It comes with plenty of features that make it a top-performing choice, especially its Hold Temp function and six pre-set temperature options.
