Panda is Britain's best-loved bamboo brand, and it's just unveiled its six bedding colours for 2020. Named the Earth collection, Panda's fresh sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases combine modern fabric woven from bamboo fibres with classic French linen. The result is bedding that's super airy, light and soft. It's an unbeatably cosy mix of modern and traditional fabrics and techniques.
Panda has long led the trend of using bamboo in its luxurious bedding. Their new bamboo linen mix is unique to Panda, and combines the much-loved qualities of each fabric. The new season's colours are pretty sensational too.
Why bamboo and linen?
Bamboo fibres have a very soft, luxe feel, comparable to high quality cotton. Bamboo fabric is also very sustainable – any gardener will be aware how easy and quick bamboo is to grow! The Earth collection's duvet covers even use Panda's iconic bamboo buttons – so no plastic is used at all. Panda's bamboo is organic and FSC certified. Bamboo also has excellent temperature regulation and hypoallergenic qualities.
French linen, meanwhile, is universally loved for its style, lightness and cooling qualities. It's way more sustainable than cotton – up to twenty times less water is required for its production, and pesticides are not needed for flax, the hardy plant that linen is made from.
Put the two together and you have unique and very chic, matt textures, in the Earth collection's seven signature colours. The range includes complete bedding sets – pillow cases, sheets and duvet covers – in four sizes, and there's also the option to buy pillow cases on their own.
Panda's bedding not only looks great, it helps you sleep better. It's breathable, soft, cooling in summer and warm in winter. Bamboo fibres are also naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic, which is great for allergy sufferers and families.
Linen and bamboo in combination are also easy to care for. You can machine washed Panda bedding over and over again, and it comes up soft and sparkling clean every time.
The Earth collection 2020 colours
Inspired by nature, Panda's Earth collection has six colours and a mixture of unique and luxurious textures that you'll just wanna run your fingers through whilst sighing in a satisfied manner. Here's a closer look at each one…
Earth collection colour: Natural (untreated)
This untreated version of Panda's bamboo linen fabric is all natural, right down to the use of Panda's famous, bamboo wood buttons. The use of natural products, even in the smallest details, is part of Panda's core belief in enabling a plastic-free home.
Earth collection colour: Silver lining grey
Panda's uniquely light, soft and textured bamboo linen mix boasts a 320 thread count that is comparable in feel to cotton with a 1,000-1,200 thread count.
Earth collection colour: Himalayan pink
This beautiful shade of pink creates an atmosphere of serenity – and that extends to when you launder it, as Panda's bedding is just so easy to clean.
Earth collection colour: Midnight navy
The boldest colour in the Earth collection range, this navy is nonetheless highly breathable, and easy to clean at just 40ºC.
Earth collection colour: Slate grey
This dramatic grey, as with the other tones in the Earth collection, offers a luxurious softness that's retained wash after wash, without the need for fabric softener.
Earth collection colour: Coconut white
The smart, matte textures of Panda's bedding are shown off beautifully in this subtle and organic shade of white.
Panda Earth collection pillow cases
If you want to start out just dipping a toe in the Panda Earth collection, it is now possible to buy pillowcases on their own, as well as complete bedding sets. These luxurious covers are available in all six of the Earth collection colours,
