Games consoles are always hot-ticket items – and the best Black Friday deals often bring an even greater incentive to wait before purchase in the hope of getting a decent chunk of money off. Enough to, say, buy that extra game 'for free'.

I know this as last Black Friday I waited to buy an Xbox Series X which dropped from £479 to just £329. That deal isn't live again just yet, but in this games and consoles Black Friday live round-up, myself and T3's staff of tech experts and gaming enthusiasts will be browsing the latest and greatest offers, keeping this page as up to date.

The format is simple: I've broken down the key deals by PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch sections, in which we'll only highlight the best-of-best offers, predominantly on console hardware. Below that trio of sections is our live blog, where other accessories, trinkets, games and availability updates will feed into this buying feature.

Here's hoping there'll be enough stock to go around and fulfil these great gaming Black Friday deals ahead of the Christmas break. With the likes of Sony's brand-new PS5 Pro already having received a price drop from Argos, the hottest products are already being cut in price. I'll be keeping an eye out for games and hardware I want to buy myself and sharing the love below. So happy gaming shopping one and all.

Sony PS5 Pro
Sony PS5 Pro: was £699.99 now £689.99 at Argos

Can you believe it? The PS5 Pro has only been out for a week – and already Argos has chopped the price. The Pro has 45% more graphical power over the standard PS5 and it's a real hot ticket right now.

Update: this deal did have £40 off, but that offer expired and it's now a £10 saving. Better than nothing, but we'll be keeping an eye out for the better deal to return!

Sony PS5 Slim: was £479.99 now £455 at Amazon UK

If you're happy with a normal PS5 (and there's every reason to be), the basic slim models are also discounted by a slim amount right now. At Amazon you'll find 5% off each, making the disc version £455 and the Digital Edition just £369.63.

Best Xbox deals

Microsoft Xbox Series X
Microsoft Xbox Series X: was £479.99 now £459 at very.co.uk

While there's £20 off the RRP of the Series X right now, it's likely worth waiting to see if some mega reductions happen on Microsoft's most powerful console. With the PS5 Pro now in play, surely Xbox will want to introduce a more tempting price offer. One to watch!

Best Switch deals

Nintendo Switch OLED with Mario Wonder
Nintendo Switch OLED with Mario Wonder: was £299.95 now £289.95 at Amazon UK

What's this? A Switch OLED bundled with a 5-star Mario game for less than the usual console price alone? While it's largely expected that the Switch is reaching end of life, playing Super Mario Bros Wonder will help you to forget about that.

Update: this deal was a low as £269.95, but has now jumped up by £20 so isn't the best it's ever been. We'll be looking out for better Switch deals )or for this one to return) as the sales progress.

Where's PlayStation's own Black Friday sale?

Even though the Xbox Store Black Friday sale started last week, Sony is yet to even announce its own PlayStation Store event yet. Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S players can nab 100s of games with massive discounts already, but PS4, PS5 and PS5 Pro owners are still in the dark. Until now, anyway.

That's because I, news editor Rik, have discovered when the PlayStation Black Friday sale starts, and you don't have too much longer to wait. It kicks off this Friday, 22 November and runs through until 2 December (Cyber Monday).

There will be some massive discounts too, with 2K Games telling me that it'll have great offers across all its games – including Borderlands 3 with a massive 90% off.

Even the recently-released Borderlands Collection: Pandora's Box, which includes the every game in the series and all the add-ons, will have a mammoth 75% off. That means it'll go from over £120 to around £20. I might even be tempted myself.

ASUS ROG Ally: was £502.80 now £399 at Amazon UK

We're living in a golden age for PC gaming on the go, thanks to an explosion of interest prompted by the Steam Deck, and the ROG Ally is one of the very best options. This chunky deal on Amazon knocks over £100 off the impressive little Windows machine, and throws in three months of Game Pass for good measure.

Was £49.99, now £14.99: there's nowhere cheaper to obtain Hogwarts Legacy for the Nintendo Switch than from the official Nintendo eShop, where you can download the digital version at a huge discount.

You've gotta act quick...

After penning this deal round-up ahead of the weekend just gone, it's only taken a matter of days and hours for the best deals to sell out and/or adjust.

Take the £40 off the PS5 Pro, for example, that Argos stellar deal has now been reduced to just £10. Same to be said of the £30 off the Switch OLED with Mario Wonder, that's also now down to just £10.

But, fret not, myself and my T3 colleagues will be pulling together new and updated deals for all the best games consoles and, as and when we spot them, gaming accessories and, but of course, discounted games too!

Sony's premium pro-grade controller has been around for a while now – and its high-end asking price has rarely dipped. Amazon has cut the price below the £200 threshold, though, making for the lowest price the controller has been this year.
