After a successful year developing its ‘Creation of Beauty’ concept, Huawei is now said to be unveiling two new tablets during its launch event in Barcelona on Thursday. We’re expecting to see two new tablets, both of which will hopefully follow the brand’s focus on aestheticism, innovative design features and outstanding screen quality.

Both tablets succeed the MatePad Pro 13.2, a model that has already been compared to the industry-leading iPad Pro. Launched in December 2023, the MatePad Pro 13.2 introduced a new level of portable creativity with its range of artistic features. The new top-end MatePad is expected to build on this, particularly with its GoPaint App functionality and groundbreaking display technology.

Whilst we currently don’t know too much about the MatePad12 X, it looks as if it will also have a strong focus on portability and productivity. Images suggest it’ll boast a shimmery pearlescent polish and a choice of elegant colourways, but we expect to hear more during this week’s launch.

The next Huawei pro-level MatePad may come an upgraded version of the GoPaint App, a platform that provides multiple professional brush tools and works with the 3rd gen Huawei M-Pencil. This would make the tablet perfect for on the go designers or art students, especially as real and professional painting effects can be achieved through physical simulations and innovative interaction methods.

We’re hoping to see a new set of exclusive brushes included in the GoPaint App, especially ones that encompass varying artistic techniques. This would be useful for painters looking to explore their artistic side, nurturing a sense of playfulness and imagination.

The new MatePad Pro could also feature a display upgrade, combining enhanced clarity, handwriting experience and anti-glare performance. If true, this would improve performance across the board, welcoming a new era of tablet-based creation.

The tablet’s notes function is also set to develop, featuring a larger variety of colourful covers and templates to help users create ideas easily and happily. These features alongside the impressive drawing software would continue to provide a more powerful paperless learning experience that anyone would enjoy using.

In terms of accessories, it’s reported that the new MatePad Pro will see the introduction of the all-new Huawei Glide Keyboard. This is rumoured to introduce an innovative stylus storage design, but again, we’ll find out more during Thursday’s event.

With just a few days to go, we know we’re not the only ones eagerly awaiting the launch. The new top-end MatePad has especially caught our eye, and if the rumours are true, it’s going to be  impressive products from Huawei that prioritises consumer expectations over anything else.
