Sony A90K 42-inch: was £1,800 now £1,239 at AO.com

Sony's prestige model is only available in 42- or 48-inch sizes and wasn't updated for 2023 so this is still the best-of-best you can buy if you want a smaller OLED model. The price does reflect that, too, but this is a 5-star scoring TV because its natural and bright images are just sublime.

Sony A80L 55-inch: was £2,399 now £1,398 at Amazon UK

T3's review called this Sony OLED TV's pictures "insightful". That's one of those Sony qualities: a measure of balance with some of the most well-composed and dynamic pictures around. It does only have two HDMI 2.1 ports and you can get brighter competitors for this kind of money, but it depends on your picture style preference really.

LG G4 OLED 55-inch: was £2,399 now £1,483 at Amazon UK

LG's best OLED TV of 2024 has a large chunk of money cut from its price. Choose wall-mount or stand-mount – whichever will deliver the brightest and sweetest-looking OLED you'll lay eyes on right now. If you want the very brightest LG panel then this is the definitive purchase, hence the higher price point. But it's even cheaper than its G3 predecessor ffrom last year, that's how good a deal this one is!

Save stacks on this Samsung. This is the 75-inch model, which delivers crisp QLED picture quality with bright colours and fantastic definition. Don't expect perfect backlighting, thought, but do expect huge size and great value.

LG C3 OLED 55-inch: was £1,899 now £1,199 at Amazon UK

The 2023 release of LG's superb OLED line finally has a price cut that makes it worth considering. It was even cheaper last month, however, so this could be one to watch for when the Black Friday weekend lands proper. As the earlier C2 OLED is now hard to find in this size, the C3 is a top-spec go-to option.

The entry-level is the B4 OLED, after which you'll find the C4 OLED with its brighter panel, followed by the even brighter still MLA-panel of the G4 OLED.

Best Samsung Black Friday TV deals

If you're looking for one of the best Samsung TVs then there are plenty of options. Indeed, Samsung probably has the widest range on offer, from 8K to super-bright Mini-LED (QLED) and new QD-OLED panels.

A favourite is the S95D, the award-winning 2024 flagship QD-OLED, but comparable QLED panels exist in the QN95D. Below that are steps down in features, typically with diminishing peak brightness, in the QN85D, Q80D, and S90D. The triple-letter panels are 8K: so QN900, QN800.
